I am a writer. Well, once I was just a writer, now I just do a whole lot of things that involve communication.
Let’s start over.
I am a multi-media person. That means I write, produce, build, shoot, sell, create, design and spread communications.
I started using the world wide web in 1992 in college, beginning with something called IRC (Internet Relay Chat) where I would interview kids in Iceland (their government was concerned about how cut off from the world they were so they had a very advanced internet at that time apparently) about their lives and write articles for my journalism classes. I got a D from my newspaper professor because he didn’t think I should be writing about kids in Iceland because that wasn’t noteworthy news. This is the same guy who also told me I would never end up in journalism because the newsroom didn’t want women in it.
I have been in media for almost 20 years now. I guess I showed him. I wonder if he even knows how to use email?
